• Rearward Cross: With the rearward cross pattern, this is basically the opposite of the forward cross pattern. It’s most often used on rear- and four-wheel drive vehicles. For this pattern, you would bring the front tires to the rear and the rear to the front, but you switch the front tires’ sides once you’ve moved them back. The rear tires move forward without shifting sides.

Directional vs. Non-Directional Tires: What’s the Difference?
