Quick Hits: Chevy’s 2023 SUV Lineup

2023 Chevy Bolt EUV

The 2023 Bolt EUV, or Electric Utility Vehicle, is Chevy’s all-electric SUV. It seats up to five people with 39.1 inches of legroom in the back. The Bolt EUV is front-wheel drive and gets 200 hp from its single electric motor, giving it a range of up to 247 miles on a full charge. Its 65.0 kWh battery can be charged with both 120 V and 240 V outlets and is compatible with DC fast charging, as well.

The Bolt EUV has a pair of trim options: the LT and Premier. The powertrain stays consistent regardless of trim, so upgrading to the Premier is more about adding convenience features rather than improving performance. Both trims come standard with Chevy Safety Assist, but the Premier EUV gets adaptive cruise control, whereas the LT EUV has standard cruise control. Upgrading to the Premier trim also tacks on leather-appointed seats.

2023 Chevy Trailblazer

The modern Trailblazer is a subcompact SUV whose nameplate was revived for the 2021 model year after a hiatus. Being a new vehicle, it hasn’t undergone much change between its three model years, aside from adding a couple of interior upgrades here and a few new paint colors there. It’s got good gas mileage, ample cargo space, and can be had with front-wheel or all-wheel drive, all in a manageable package that is distinctively styled.

The 2023 Trailblazer has four trim options: the LS, LT, ACTIV, and RS. The LS and LT are powered by an EcoTec 1.2-liter turbocharged I-3 engine. The LS is simply furnished to keep costs down, while the LT gets some upgrades, like a remote start. Both the Trailblazer ACTIV and RS come with a 1.3-liter turbo I-3 that produces 155 hp. The ACTIV has styling fit for the trail and some light-duty off-roading accessories, while the RS has a sporty energy.

2023 Chevy Equinox

The 2023 Equinox is the next size up in Chevy’s SUV lineup, placing it in the compact SUV segment. It still has seating for five, but with significantly more cargo space than the SUVs we’ve seen thus far. With its rear seats folded, it has 63.9 cu.ft. of room in the back.

All four of the Equinox’s trim levels should ring a bell. The LS is its base trim, the LT is middle-tier, there’s a sporty RS trim, and the Premier rounds off the group with luxury features. Regardless of the trim level, the powertrain consists of a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder paired with a six-speed transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available.

2023 Chevy Blazer

The Blazer gets a fresh face for 2023, enhancing its already attractive exterior and making it one of the sharpest vehicles from Chevy this year. For those who want to up the ante even more, there are some special edition packages you can add on to make the model more exciting. The Midnight and Sport Editions black out the exterior from wheels to roof rails, and the Redline Edition adds black and red accents, achieving a sporty look.

The Blazer is only slightly larger than the Equinox but has a completely different driving profile due to its set of engines. The smaller engine, a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder, is standard on the 2LT, 3LT, and Premier trims. It produces 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The RS trim gets the 3.6-liter V6, which puts out an exciting 308 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque.

2023 Chevy Traverse

With the addition of a third row of seats, the 2023 Traverse represents a big jump in size from the Blazer. It has the space for seven or eight people, depending on the second-row seating configuration, and a maximum cargo capacity of 98.2 cu.ft. with the seats folded down. To move all that real estate, the Traverse has one engine option. Its capable 3.6-liter V6 generates 310 hp and allows for a solid maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs.

More room and more power aren’t the only things the Traverse brings to the table. With six trim options and several special edition packages, it brings a lot more variety, too. The LS provides considerable comfort for a base trim option, while the High Country represents the peak of Traverse luxury. The rest of the trim lineup is rounded out with flexible options like the LT Cloth, LT Leather, and the RS.

2023 Chevy Tahoe

As the second biggest SUV in Chevy’s lineup, the 2023 Tahoe is the first to offer truck-like capability, all while seating up to eight people. All three of its engines are brawny, from its two EcoTec V8s to the Duramax turbodiesel. The smaller V8, a 5.3-liter, produces 355 hp, while the 6.2-liter V8 bumps things up to 420 hp. The diesel generates 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque and gets 28 MPG on the highway.

The Tahoe has six trim levels as well, starting with the LS and ending with the High Country, just like the Traverse. Most exciting is the z71 trim, which falls in the middle of the lineup, but is noteworthy for its off-roading take on the full-sized SUV. It adds recovery hooks, all-terrain tires, and an adaptive suspension to the package.

2023 Chevy Suburban

We’ve all heard of the Suburban—it is the longest-running nameplate in the industry, dating back to 1935. The world’s most seasoned vehicle comfortably leads the Chevy SUV pack in size with 144.7 cu.ft. of cargo space. It has the same engine options as the 2023 Tahoe and is a capable hauler with a towing capacity of up to 8,300 lbs. The Suburban also has the same trim options as the Tahoe: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. If you need a big vehicle that can handle a lot of people and a lot of cargo, there is pretty much nothing that can beat the Suburban.
